This Privacy Policy sets out our privacy practices and explains how we Timeoutsociety  (“TOS”, “we”, or “us”) treat the information we collect when you visit and use timeoutsociety.com or any other sites, services, mobile applications, products, and content provided by Timeoutsociety. This policy applies to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the TOS Service By using the TOS Service you are consenting to collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information consistent with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and those set out in our Terms of Service. You understand and agree that we are providing a platform for you to post content, including photos, graphics, audio and video clips, text and other materials  to the TOS SERVICE and to share this Content publicly.

This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.Some of the concepts below are a little technical, but we have done our best to explain what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have regarding your information. We take your privacy very seriously, and you should too, so please read this policy carefully.The effective date of this Privacy Policy is July 1, 2016

1. Collecting and using your information

We use the information we collect when you use the Maptia Service to provide our products to you, to improve and enhance your experience of them, and to protect Maptia and our Users. In addition, we use the information we collect to offer you customized content while you are using the Maptia Service, to send you updates about your account and the Maptia Service, and to respond to your questions or comments.

b. Content

Maptia is primarily designed for public, not private, content and you should keep this in mind when submitting, posting and sharing information or content on the Maptia Service. You should assume that most of the Content you provide to Maptia will be made public by default. However, we do provide some drafting tools that allow you to save and edit some types of Content prior to posting them publicly, and we may also give you the option to make some of your Content more private if you want.Once Content has been posted and shared publicly on the Maptia Service it is accessible to everyone, including search engines, and you may lose any privacy rights you might have regarding that Content. Protecting your copyright is of the utmost importance to us, and we have put special measures in place that prevent any of the images you upload to Maptia being displayed or indexed by major search engines. However, please bear in mind, that as these other services are out of our control, we can’t guarantee this.

c. Metadata

Metadata is usually technical data associated with Content you submit, post or share on the Maptia Service. Users can add or may have Metadata added to their Content including geolocation, date, attribution, or other data. We may also collect metadata information about the Content you provide to us. For instance, when you provide images, we may collect metadata that describes geolocation and the date the image was taken.

d. E-mail communications

We may send you notification e-mails about certain activity related to your account, for example when someone likes, comments, or collects your Content. Depending on your preferences, we may send you a weekly update that includes Content on Maptia you might like. From time to time, we may also send e-mails with news, products, offers, surveys or promotions related to Maptia. Please be aware that we may embed information, such as a web beacon or tag, into our emails in order to measure the deliverability of these e-mails to our Users. However, we respect your inbox and if you do not want to receive e-mail from us, simply click on the “unsubscribe” link contained within the unwanted e-mail message. Please be aware that you will not be able to unsubscribe from system e-mails or legal notices, for instance e-mails that tell you something important about your account, about changes in our services, or about updates to our policies. We will never provide your e-mail address to a third party without your explicit permission.

2. Sharing your information

We will never share information we receive from you unless we have your permission, or have given you prior notice that the information will be shared, and with whom. Except as noted in this policy, we will never disclose potentially personally identifying or personally identifying information, nor will we rent or sell your personal information to third parties outside Maptia without your consent.

a. Information you share with the public

Any information you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Maptia Service, including your profile page information, is accessible to anyone and indexable by search engines, subject to any applicable privacy settings you have chosen. When you submit, post or share Content on the Maptia Service, it is made public by default and may be re-shared by others.

b. Information you share with third party services

We enable you to share Content that you have submitted, posted or shared to the Maptia Service with other third party services. For instance, you may share your posts on Twitter and Facebook. You may also access third party websites and services through links that have been embedded by other Users within their Content on the Maptia Service.

d. Legal requests and preventing harm

If we believe in good faith that disclosure of personal information is necessary, we reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to release personal information to (a) comply with a law, regulation, legal request, governmental request or governmental order, (b) enforce or apply this Privacy Policy and/or our Terms of Service, (c) protect the rights, property, health or safety of Maptia, our employees, our Users, or others, (d) or detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.

e. Business transfers

In the event that Maptia is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, liquidation, reorganization or sale of assets, your information, such as name and email address, Content and any other information collected through the Maptia Service, may be among the items sold or transferred as part of that transaction. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of us or our assets may continue to use your personal information as described in this policy. The commitments made in this Privacy Policy must be honored by the new entity.

f. Aggregated information

We may share or disclose anonymized data, aggregate information, non-private information, or other non-personally identifying information with others, or with people and entities with which we are doing business.

3. Storing your information

By consenting to this Privacy Policy and submitting information to the Maptia Service, you are agreeing that such information may be transferred to computers that are located outside of your state, province, territory or country. If you are register for and use the Maptia Service outside the United States, the information you provide, including personally identifiable information, will be transferred to the United States for storage and processing.

6. Other websites and services

Content on Maptia may include links to third party websites or services that are not owned and controlled by Maptia. We are not responsible for the practices employed by any websites or services linked to or from the Maptia Service, including the information or content contained within them. This policy does not apply to those third party websites or services.

7. Children’s privacy

The TOS Service and its Content are not directed at anyone under the age of thirteen (13) and we do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from children under the age of thirteen, or knowingly allow such persons to register for the Maptia Service. If you believe that we might have any information from or on a child under the age of thirteen, or become aware that your child has created an account, please contact us immediately and we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

8. Changes to our Privacy Policy

Although most changes are likely to be minor, we may amend this policy from time to time and at our sole discretion. If you continue to use the Maptia website after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy. We will notify you of any changes by posting them on this page or by more prominent notice if the changes are significant or as required by law. In all cases, use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used.
