The service and facility at the Balmoral hotel is phenomenal and outstanding compared to other top hotels in the area. We arrived earlier than planned and our rooms weren’t available yet. The front staff instantly invited us for a spa retreat and offered us breakfast as well. This is something you will really appreciate after a long-haul flight. That’s a service you want when you check-in to a 5 star hotel.
A must experience whilst staying at the hotel: The restaurant BRASSERIE PRINCE BY ALAIN ROUX! The menu is designed to match the Scottish produce with classic French dishes. We highly recommend to come here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The waiters will help guide you in what they highly suggest and even match you to what they think you will enjoy the most after hearing your requests/dietary needs.
The style and furniture felt like a mix of a classy vintage US diner with french hospitality, which makes the restaurant as a whole very unique! We felt like we were traveling through time.
The breakfast bar is outstanding. Fresh cheeses, meats, fruits, and all the bread you can ask for! Yum!
Over at the Scotch Whiskey Bar within the hotel the bartenders will assist you to find the perfect scotch. You won’t be able to leave the bar without a beverage! You can find over 500 malts, blends and vintages from the Highlands, Lowlands, Islands, Islay and Speyside. What a luxury!
This hotel fully deserves it’s 5 stars. If we could give some additional stars, we would! Thanks for hosting us at The Balmoral. We can not wait to book our next trip to Edinburgh and encourage all future travelers to experience a Balmoral stay while in Edinburgh.
